Health, Safety & Well-Being

The Breakers on the Ocean is committed to providing an experience that is in full compliance with all federal, state and local health department regulations with protocols to benefit the health and safety of our guests, employees and community. We are taking safety measures and we are asking our guests to support our common goal of maintaining a safe and responsible environment.

In addition to our already rigorous cleaning procedures, we have elevated our cleanliness standards and sanitization procedures to meet the new health and safety challenges presented by the current environment.

Guest rooms will be thoroughly cleaned, sanitized and disinfected using safe and effective disinfectants in between use by each new guest. Common touch points and hard surfaces in all guest rooms will be cleaned rigorously in detail.

Guest room windows open and enable guests to enjoy fresh air and ocean breezes.

Common touch points and hard surfaces in all common areas will be cleaned rigorously and in detail frequently throughout the day and on an ongoing basis using safe and effective sanitizers and disinfectants.

Hand sanitizer is available throughout the property.

Guest Check-In

In order to provide a safe and responsible start to your stay, we have updated our hotel check-in policies to minimize guest-employee physical interaction and to avoid congregation in the hotel lobby. Please be prepared to follow these important safety guidelines at check-in:

During the check-in process, all parties must maintain a six feet distance from employees and other guests who are not in their party.

Only one member of a guest party should transact during the check-in process.

A face covering or mask should be utilized during check-in and while in other common indoor areas.

Employees will have limited contact with guests during the check-in and check-out process.  The front desk attendant will not handle the guest’s ID and credit card.

Wrist Bands

Overnight guests will be required to wear a wrist band in order for employees to quickly and easily identify them as an overnight guest.

Guests

We are asking our guests to support our common goal of maintaining a safe and responsible environment. Guests over the age of two should wear masks or face coverings in all indoor common areas. Guests also are strongly encouraged to wear masks and face coverings in outdoor situations where six feet distancing may be difficult to maintain. In addition to wearing masks and face coverings, guests should always maintain excellent personal hygiene. This includes frequent hand washing, using hand sanitizer and practicing physical distancing.

Employees

We have increased employee training to reinforce how our team can better take care of our guests and themselves.

We regularly remind employees of health and hygiene and physical distancing requirements.

All employees are screened for illness upon arrival to work. Employees with symptoms of illness are not permitted to work. In addition, employees have been instructed and will be regularly reminded to not report to work if they have COVID-19 symptoms or if they come into contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or has a COVID-19 test pending result.

All employees are required to wear face masks at all times. In addition to wearing masks, all food service and housekeeping employees are required to wear gloves. Other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including gloves, will be utilized by employees where necessary.

Housekeeping

Guest rooms will be thoroughly cleaned, sanitized and disinfected using safe and effective disinfectants in between use by each new guest.  Common touch points and hard surfaces in all guest rooms will be cleaned rigorously in detail.

For guests staying multiple nights, the following options are available:

  1. Daily Housekeeping Service.  This option includes full housekeeping service provided daily or upon request.
  2. Limited Housekeeping Service.  Limited service will include (1) daily trash pickup, (2) fresh towels and (3) replenishment of toiletries.  Arrangements will be made on an individual basis for delivery of towels and replenishment of toiletries.  Bags will be provided for trash to be left in the hallway and picked up.

Front desk attendants will confirm each guest’s preference upon check-in and follow up with housekeeping accordingly.

Luggage Assistance

Luggage assistance will be available upon request.

A Bell Attendant (wearing a face mask and gloves) will request the guest to open the car trunk and verify what pieces of luggage will be taken to the room.

The luggage will be taken to the room by a Bell Attendant. Upon arrival at the room, the Bell Attendant will knock, announce arrival, and place a bell cart in front of the room for the guest to remove the luggage. The Bell Attendant will not enter the room unless asked to do so. Luggage carts will be disinfected after each use.

We strongly encourage the use of a Bell Attendant over a guest’s personal use of a luggage cart. This will reduce the number of people handling the luggage carts. It also will better enable us to sanitize the carts in between each use.

Lower Lobby Entrance

The lower lobby entrance will be locked in order to control foot traffic throughout the hotel. If a guest requires assistance entering the building through the lower lobby upon arrival and prior to check-in, the guest should call a front desk attendant at (732) 449-7700. Once a guest is registered and checked-in, a valid guestroom key will permit access through the lower lobby entrance. The main entrance will be unlocked and accessible at all times.

Ocean Terrace

The Ocean Terrace is open to overnight hotel guests with social distancing measures in place.

Swimming Pool Area

The swimming pool is open (with capacity limits) and swimming is permitted with social distancing measures in place.

The entrance from Ocean Avenue has been locked to control foot-traffic. Guests will enter and exit the pool area through the lower lobby.

Pool towels and lounge chair coverings are available from a pool attendant or the front desk.

Lounge chairs, tables and chairs are spaced apart to support distancing of six feet between guests not in the same party.

Tables are reserved for food service.

The number of available lounge chairs is limited to support social distancing measures and lounge chairs are available on a first come, first served basis.

Lounge chairs, tables and chairs will be cleaned after use by each guest.

Guests will be asked to maintain proper hygiene at all times while staying at the hotel. This includes washing hands frequently, using hand sanitizer and showering prior to arriving at the pool area.

Pool occupancy will be managed and may be restricted in accordance with physical distancing requirements.

Employees have been trained to monitor and enforce all new protocols.

Beaches & Boardwalk

Spring Lake beaches and boardwalk are open. Overnight hotel guests will have access to the beach during their stay. Physical distancing will be required on the beach and boardwalk. Benches have been removed from the boardwalk and the gazebos are closed. Swimming in the ocean is permitted.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available 7 days a week.

All indoor dining areas are closed until further notice.
